Within each of our hearts is a garden, abundant with ripe fruit and flowers, alive with the sound of birdsongs and running streams. This is a sacred space where we can commune with God. Jardín de Altagracia is a space to cultivate and care for your heart’s garden. We design an array of offerings that support contemplation and connection with the Creator.

About Altagracia

Altagracia Alvarado is a Christian mystic and herbalist from South Central LA with roots in the Caribbean. She is devoted to the liberation and mutual flourishing of all beings and works to reconnect Black and Brown people with the gift of contemplation. Altagracia is pursuing a Master of Arts in Religion from Union Theological Seminary and received her Bachelor of Arts in African American studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.

She began practicing herbalism with the guidance of her family members and received more formal training from Hood Herbalism, a community organization based in Los Angeles, CA. As a lifelong student, Altagracia is currently studying the Puerto Rican herbal tradition.
